The AMPS model is based on
the idea of collaborative institutional or individual-based partnerships. An
AMPISys team provides initial training, materials and follow up consultation.
The host organization provides the venue for the orientation training and
conducts the follow up work. The precise nature of those relationships is
negotiable but the general pattern is that the host institution, after the
first program delivery, will then be authorized to conduct subsequent training
programs with less direct AMPISys involvement.
